Hi! I’m going to start by saying thanks for joining me on this blog journey. While I write stories of conspiracies, suspense and other nasty things, I’m a romantic at heart and believe that love really does conquer all…and as I say on my website, even if it takes a bloody route to get there. Why else would a soldier die for his country or a parent trade his life for his child. There’s no greater strength than that in this realm, or the next.
I hesitated to blog not knowing what to say that would, in all honesty, mean anything to anyone. Then I realized that the things that get me through the day are the inspirational quotes I find all over the internet, in lines of novels, and in everyday things. Sometimes, they’re bold and hit me squarely in the face. Other times they’re subtle, like the birds on my feeder or the smile from the lady in the supermarket who traded carts with me because she didn’t have a quarter (yes, you need a quarter here to unlock a cart from the corral—annoying, and as you can probably guess, every jacket I own has a quarter in the left side pocket).
Hopefully, the quotes and ideas I share will at least bring a smile or comforting thoughts.
The quote above I used in my April newsletter (you can sign up here for free) because that’s what I've found writing and reading do. Art, music, dance, even cooking, do this, too, because at the root, each is a method that not only creates but creates a connection to and with each other.
Whether it’s an informative narrative that teaches, a melody that holds memories, or a story of mystery or adventure, all have the ability to transport and transcend reality, just for a little while. At times, it even helps us navigate that reality in ways we never conceived or considered.
Like magic.
